New Zealand Stone Products produce slabs of schist stone in both vein and cross-cut formats. Unique to our company, our outstandingly beautiful range of Pacifica Stone products can be custom made to suit our clients’ requirements and offer an exciting new option for discerning designers and their clients.

In tones of white and grey with hints of brown, the schist stone tiles and slabs are ideally suited to both interior and exterior applications. These include stone walling, exterior cladding, interior walling, flooring, paving and counter tops in several distinct formats and finishes.

Pacifica stone is also a great alternative to marble, granite, basalt, limestone and travertine products. Whether you require stone benchtops, vanities, counter tops, cladding stone, fire surrounds, bathroom tiles and flooring or swimming pool surrounds/tiles, we would encourage you to consider the Pacifica schist stone range, native to Otago and used extensively throughout New Zealand.

  • Vein Cut Slab

Vein cut slabs display the schist’s beautiful linear pattern with its alternating layers of grey mica and white quartz, blended with the soft mineral colours of other trace elements such as iron and manganese.

  • Cross Cut Slab

Cross cut slabs display a very different aspect of our schist. Orchestrated marbling of glossy quartz alternates with the sparkling matt finish of mica, to produce a quite spectacular finish that is almost three dimensional in appearance.

  • Aoteoroa range

A very thin sliver of Pacifica, rich in quartz, is laminated onto glass to produce a remarkable translucent effect.

Light Weight Tiles

Schist stone slabs are usually 20mm thick and can be cut to size for either counter tops or tiles, however we do produce light weight schist stone tiles and slabs which consist of a 3mm veneer of stone on a 4mm aluminium backing. Light weight yet strong, these tiles offer a solution where weight may be an issue.
